As well as being a club to promote the use of historic narrowboats, we also want to create a social network of young enthusiasts who are interested in canals and historic boats. This way a group of friends can be formed and allows everyone to share their stories and knowledge, informally, amongst the group.

The YWBS will normally hold social meetings at the rallies around the canal system during the main season, for example at the Braunston Boat Show, Shackerstone Family Festival, Black Country Living Museum events (Tug Gathering and working boat rally) as well as many more.

In addition to this we also hope to host an annual Christmas Party, which will move to different locations around the system each year in the hope on attracting all members to come together and celebrate the end of the years boating. These events will be informal and include a various of activities, including Boatmans Games.
